Pepperoni Pizza and Persuasive Essays....
Our students craft persuasive writing pieces each year from kindergarten-eighth grade.  Sometimes, those essays render surprising results.  Please thank this amazing third grader for writing a very effective piece about why the school should provide pepperoni pizza on Fridays.  We had our largest demand ever with 335 students ordering school lunch!

GLOBAL SCHOOL PLAY DAY

We had a fun-filled day celebrating Global Play Day on Wednesday.  Students in elementary school spent the entire day, building, crafting, strategizing, collaborating, running and laughing.  For some, this was a new opportunity for extended unstructured play with a group of friends.  Shockingly, very few students visited the nurse or left school early.
Middle school students have been singing
"Happy Birthday" to NeonLitMan everyday since the beginning
of school.  He turned 100 this week!

Looking the part for the 100th day of School!

NJHS Article: Social Studies by Madison Zintsmaster
Sigsbee has two outstanding middle school Social Studies teachers: Mrs. Scudder and Ms. Borucki. Mrs. Scudder is the 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher, along with Ms. Borucki. The 6th grade Social Studies teacher is Ms. Borucki, who is also a teacher at Devry University. Right now in 6th grade, Ms. Borucki is teaching the students about Ancient Greece and mythology. They are not only learning about Ancient Greece in Social Studies, but it is also tying the subject matter in with the English class. In 7th grade, Mrs. Scudder and Ms. Borucki are educating the students on the U.S. Constitution. They will go in depth and learn about  the Bill of Rights and the 26 Amendments. The eighth graders are learning about the social and political characteristics of the original colonies. This includes what the families of the 13 colonies were like and what characteristic made each colony unique. They will soon start wrapping this up and go into the issues that lead us toward the Revolutionary war. All of these different topics are very important and will allow the students to expand their knowledge on the World’s history.
