💞VALENTINE'S DAY GUIDELINES💞
Tuesday is Valentine's Day and our goal is to make everyone feel loved!  Please remember these simple guidelines to help the day go smoothly:
  • We are a health-conscious school.  Please do not send in any candy.  Teachers are not permitted to disseminate it to students.
  • We know students will want to share valentines with one another.  Please make sure all students in the class are included.  No one should feel left out.  Your teacher can give you a list of students if you want to personalize them.
  • Please refrain from showering your child with gifts at school.  If you'd like to surprise them, please wait until they get home.  Many of our students have deployed parents who they miss even more during holidays.
  • Suggestions for valentines:  pencils, stickers, fruit, small toys, personalized notes
Thank you for helping us!

NJHS: STEM Fair Winner by Madison ZintsmasterFile_002.jpeg
Sigsbee sent one winner from each grade to the county STEM Fair on February 04. The overall individual middle school winner at the regional fair was Elisabeth Bendall, a seventh grade student at Sigsbee. She created an all natural lozenge that heals and numbs canker sores. It is a small, hard candy the size of a nickel that has a sweet flavor. It proved to be very effective when she tested it on her own canker sore which went away in a matter of five days. The county STEM fair took place at the Sugarloaf elementary and middle school. The students were required to be at the school by 9 o’clock so that they could start judging at 9:30. Elisabeth was very focused and was questioned by four different people. She talked with two judges and then had a lunch break. Then she explained her project to two more judges. The students found out the results a little after four o’clock. They students were there for a total of eight hours with a one hour lunch break. Elisabeth said that she felt very confident and that she wouldn’t have changed a single one of her responses to the judges. She ended up being the overall individual winner in middle school and will be going to Lakeland, Florida on March 29 to March 31st. We hope that she does well and continues to move on!
