A Call for Donations:  The art room would like to make year-round use of the outdoor studio space (behind the classroom).  The kids love being out there, but the afternoon sun is brutal!  Please help us out.  We need patio umbrellas (and the weighted stands if you have them) to put in the tables.  Old umbrellas are fine!  They don't have to be new.  We would love help drilling holes in the tables to put the umbrellas through (I'll provide the drill and a large bit).
Thanks to anyone that can help!

Parent Book Club:     Reclaiming Conversation

Please join SCS Principal Elisa Jannes and Elementary Literacy Coach Angela Hankins in a short series of informal conversations around Sherry Turkle's’ book, Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age.

Meeting Dates:  3/29/17, TBD
Time: 5 pm
Place: SCS Library
Pages to read:  1 - 99

How it will work:
We will read the book in multiple chunks.  We ask that participants bring their thoughts about the text to discussions.

Conversation Guidelines:
  • A ribbon of respect should be woven through all  discussion-  lifting our families and children up in a positive light.
  • Do your best to read up on the chapters assigned.
  • Participate in the discussion as often as you would like.
