LOOKING FOR VETERANS....

We will be hosting our annual Veterans' Day Appreciation Morning on Monday, November 6th from 8:00-9:30 AM.  We are looking for veterans who are interested in speaking to children about their experiences.  Each veteran will have approximately 20-30 minutes in a classroom.  Veterans who are interested in presenting should fill out this form.

The assembly is for veterans and students only.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to appreciate the sacrifices and contributions of our military members.

UPDATE OF FREE BREAKFAST/LUNCH
The SCS Board of Directors has supported the decision to offer free breakfast to students through November 17th.  Donating to fund this program is an excellent way to take care of some of your volunteer hours.  Please consider making a monetary donation through our website www.sigsbee.org or by purchasing items in our wish list on Amazon (see flier below).

The opportunity to access free lunch ended on Friday, October 20th.  If you have a financial hardship at this time and would like to request free lunch to continue for your child(ren), please fill out the following form: FREE LUNCH REQUEST FORM .

Your request will be kept anonymous and only reviewed by office staff.

K-5 COSTUME PARADE TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31st
 (2:15-2:45 PM)

Our annual costume parade will take place on October 31st. The parade starts around the front circle area where we conduct morning carline. The parade will start promptly at 2:15 PM. You are welcome to stop by (and certainly dress up if you like) to join us in some old fashioned fun! Please make sure to stand behind the seated classes (around the perimeter) so we have a safe and clear parade route and bring your cameras!  If you wish to take your child home after the parade, please be sure to sign out with the classroom teacher. The parade should be over by 2:45 PM. We thank you in advance for your support in helping your child follow the rules about costumes.

Teachers will send information about specific costume guidelines for each grade level.  General guidelines are listed below.

 COSTUME GUIDELINES
  • Costumes are not allowed to have any  dangerous objects (i.e. toy swords, toy guns, chains, skates, or spray cans) . Please leave all accessories at home.
  • Students should wear school clothes under the costume so they can participate at recess.  Students should be able to manipulate their own costumes so that they can use the bathroom.
  • Please make sure young children in costume before the parade, are able to sit and learn without distraction.
  • Costumes should not be too scary (so that our younger students are not frightened). No blood or gore.  No masks or costumes that cover the head.
  • Costumes should be appropriate length (not too short, too tight, or see-through).
  • Costumes should not include things on the hands or face that would interfere with sight.
  • Shoes must be safe (no slippers or high heels)
  • Face masks should not be worn.
  • Please leave the candy at home.
*Any student with a costume that does not meet the guideline will be asked to remove it.
