SAFETY FIRST: TIPS FROM TEACHERS
We are all revisiting our procedures for keeping children safe.  One thing we've noticed is that many students do not know their basic contact information and are reliant on saved contacts in their cell phones.  Our safety tip for this week is to ensure that your child knows your full name, address and phone number.  This is important in the event that your child is separated from adults during an emergency.

For older children who may be at social events without you, please consider setting up a system for them to signal that they need you to pick them up.  It may be a certain word they text you or an agreed upon excuse like, "I have a headache and have to go."  We find adolescents are most apt to use this if you promise not to ask any questions about what happened and hope that they will at some point, maybe even years later, share their experience.
