We are Virtual on Monday.

Students were sent home with their iPads or Chromebooks so that we could be ready to learn virtually on Monday, should the weather preclude us from being able to come to school.  At this time, MCSD has decided to close schools on Monday.

We WILL be moving to virtual learning for the day if we have connectivity.  This way, we can keep your children learning and we don't have to use a vacation day as a makeup day.  Please log onto Zoom at 8:30 AM.  Students in K-2 should look in See Saw for their Zoom link.  Students in grades 3-8 should look in Google Classroom for their links and schedules.  If we don't have connectivity, we will cancel virtual school as well.

If you are unable to connect for any reason, just email a teacher when it is possible to do so and we will excuse your absence.

While Sigsbee Charter follows the Monroe County School District closures, there are often decisions made specific to our school.

THANKSGIVING BOUNTY

The Sigsbee tradition of assembling non-perishable food for those  in need will continue again this year.  Your donations will be used to send students home with a box full of items they can use while school is closed over the holiday break.  The boxes are donated to students at both Sigsbee Charter and Key West High School.  Our goal is to fill 60 boxes!  Below you will find the item that your child's grade level is collecting.  Feel free to donate one or many of your the grade level item.  We suggest checking the Publix BOGO ads for great deals.

Items are due by Monday, November 16th so that we can organize the boxes and send them home with the students.  The items will be collected in your child's homeroom class.  This is a great way to teach our students about the impact they can have by helping their neighbors.

Note: *We will also gladly accept donations of medium sized, sturdy cardboard boxes with lids or top closures

COVID UPDATES
Our Sigsbee family is doing a great job exercising caution and keeping students out of school when they are symptomatic or potentially exposed to a positive case of the Coronavirus.  We are appreciative of your efforts to keep our school open and functioning for learning.  Please be mindful of your gatherings outside of school as we are seeing a spike in cases in the community and coming up to the season when families often celebrate together.

Continue to mask up, keep a distance, wash hands and stay home if feeling sick.  In addition, remember that if your child becomes ill at school, it is often the situation that they are required to be out for a longer period of time than if they had just stayed home until their symptoms dissipated.  Below is some specific guidance from the school district:
STAY INFORMED

THANK YOU FOR OUR SIGSBEE SURVIVOR BUFFS!
