CELEBRATING THE MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD
April is Month of the Military Child, a time to celebrate our military and veteran-connected children and their families for their service and sacrifice. Below are some thoughts from our purple paper chain in the cafeteria.  Students were asked to write a sentiment about why it's cool to be (or to know) a military child.

Comments from the kids:

"It's cool to know I live with a hero."

"One positive thing about being a military child is that I get to move to new places around the world every 1-3 years.  Also, if there is an emergency, military families get to leave/help the country.  It's also really fun to learn about different cultures."

"The cool thing about being a military kid is that you get to move to foreign countries and it's really fun.  Even if it's hard to keep in contact with friends, you can still make lots of new friends in the place you move to."

"(Military kids) get to tell you about all the different places they have been to and lived in."

"...It's cool to have my dad serve our country.  It's fun to hear about all the places my dad goes, and learn the history of every state we live in."
