VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR STAY-AT-HOME PARENT
Nurse Wall is in search of a parent who would like to fulfill some volunteer hours by filling Ziploc bags with ice. "Magic Boo-Boo Ice" is in high demand at Sigsbee, especially during the warmer months. If you are interested in helping, please email Nurse Wall (chanda.wall@sigsbee.org).
We will send home the Ziplock bags with your child and you would just returned them filled with ice. 1 box= 1 hour
MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Dear Middle School Students -
It's that time again! high school football season! And with that comes Marching Band at the games with the exciting pep band music and the exciting halftime shows. Be sure to head over to the game on Friday evening to see the Key West High School Marching Band in action! If you see any band instruments you liked, come to see Mr Brooker to sign up for Band to learn how to play them!
NEW FAMILY ORIENTATION
Please join Principal Jannes on Zoom to learn more about Sigsbee and routines/procedures that all families should know. We will be using an open account for Zoom so you can login with any device.
Farewell Officer Katy- Welcome Officer Dantu
Officer Katy is back on patrol after four years at SCS. While we will all miss her unicorn headbands, we know we will see her again as we travel out in the community.
In the meantime, Sigsbee is happy to welcome our new School Resource Officer (SRO), Officer Nick Dantu, who has already been acclimating himself to our campus.
Our SROs are invaluable in helping to keep our school safe and spending time building relationships with our students. Please feel free to welcome Officer Dantu when you see him out and about.
HEALTH AND SAFETY FIRST- PLEASE HELP
We are seeing an increase in the number of students being sent to school with symptoms of illness. We need you help to keep everyone safe, healthy and learning. Please DO NOT send your children to school when they are sick. Rises in pediatric Covid cases are now beginning to affect the school population. Exposure to sick students causes other students to have to quarantine and parents to have to stay home from work. In addition, Nurse Wall is being overrun by students who must be picked up everyday. Please help to keep our schools open by following the guidelines.
In addition, NASKW has informed us that there have been several complaints about parents speeding in the neighborhoods during drop off and pick up. Others are parking on peoples' lawns as rendezvous spots for their students. Please be considerate of our neighbors and the hundreds of children who live in the houses that surround our school. Failure to follow traffic guidelines on base could lead to a loss of base access.
