THANK YOU
A tremendous thank you to Tami McGrail (parent of Emily and Virginia) for donating so many hours to our breakfast program.  We were pleased to be able to provide this service to our students during a trying time.  When we return from Thanksgiving break, we will transition back to our routines and hope students will eat a nutritious breakfast BEFORE coming to school.

As we move into the next phase of recovery, we are anxious to help those of you who need assistance.  If we can help to support your with hurricane related challenges, please email Mrs. Jannes (eli.jannes@sigsbee.org).  Our school has the ability to connect to a variety of resources.

COFFEE CLATCH FOR PARENTS:
Monday, December 18th
IT'S NOT JUST STICKS AND STONES THAT HURT ME
6:00-7:00 PM Sigsbee Library
Join Mrs. Jannes and our Military Family Life Counselors to discuss the trials and tribulations of adolescent development and peer relations.  We will be discussing "mean" versus "bullying," how to deal with adolescent push back, social media and "frenemies."  Topics will relate directly to things we observe within our day with our own students.

PARENT BOOK TALK
Mrs. Jannes will be hosting a parent book talk for parents in January & February.  The two books selected are excellent resources for parents who want to learn about social interactions and developmental stages of children in the pre-teen and teenage years.  There will be a meeting to discuss the book QUEEN BEES and WANNABES: Helping your daughter survive cliques, gossip, boyfriends and other realities of adolescence, by Rosalind Wiseman.  This resource is appropriate for parents of girls.  A second meeting will focus on the book: Masterminds and Wingmen: Helping our boys cope with schoolyard power, locker-room tests, girlfriends, and the new rules of boy world  by Rosalind Wiseman, for parents of adolescent boys.

Please let me know if you are interested in joining the group so that I can explore reasonable purchases of the books for you.  The meetings will be in mid-January and mid- February, to give parents time to read the books.  If you are interested, please respond to:
