Breakfast/Lunch Sign Up for this week
(please click on link above and fill out by Sunday evening)

SCS is receiving free breakfast and lunch from the National School Lunch Program. This means that ALL students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday, even if attending alternate days. We will be sending out the menu weekly and asking you to indicate what portion of the program you would like for your child by Sunday evening.

A/B day students opting for food on the day they are NOT at school will receive it the day before and will bring it home in their backpacks. The program includes any child under the age of 18 so you may include younger siblings in the count.

The menu is not determined by SCS. The school's vendor lunch program is suspended until the free lunch program is dissolved (December 31st). Please send your child with a lunch if you are not opting for this program.

Second Quarter Input Survey:
Due by Wednesday, September 30

It's hard to believe we are quickly approaching the end of the first marking period.  That also means it is time to revisit your options for how learning will take place for your child during the second quarter.  Your responses to this survey are binding through the second marking period (October 11th- December 18th) because the logistics of fitting students in their classrooms at a 6' distance require accurate numbers.

We continue to receive questions about why Sigsbee is operating on an A/B Day schedule.  Alternating days are in place because we are following the CDC guidelines and keeping students 6' apart in their classrooms; they simply all don't fit when at school at the same time.  Currently, approximately 31.5% of students are matriculating in the 100% virtual format.  We won't know if we can accommodate any more students on campus until this survey is completed by all parents and we can assess whether that number increases or decreases.

I know the staff is doing its very best to try to meet everyone's needs in the most effective way possible given the restrictions that are in place.  The teachers are working long hours to keep connecting with students in class, students and home on alternating days and students who are 100% virtual.  Everyone is in agreement that learning happens most efficiently and effectively when the students are in the classroom.  We appreciate your understanding as we navigate this unusual time.

Remember, the school's website includes a reopening page that provides information about plans, CDC guidelines and school information.

Drive Through Flu Shots

Free flu shots are available but you must have consent from Nurse Kelley.  You are able to call the main office during school hours for her to give consent over the phone: 305-294-1861

Transportation Assistance Needed
One of our Sigsbee families is experiencing transportation issues and would appreciate assistance in getting their student to/from school.  They live in the Old Town area.  If you can assist in any way, please contact Leslie Rosch (leslie.rosch@sigsbee.org).
