An Update on On-Campus Learning

It was a huge relief to have students back on campus this week and to watch them navigate all of the health and safety guidelines with such ease.  We appreciate the entire school community for making sure the students arrived with filled water bottles, face coverings and a positive attitude.  It was great to hear the stories of how much everyone missed being on campus.  The little ones love to show off their zombie and airplane arms.

We spent the week adjusting furniture, outdoor spaces and schedules to make sure the students can move around comfortably and are given mask breaks outdoors, when they can remain socially distanced.  The 160 picnic tables we've leased are a huge asset and will be even more useful once the weather cools down a bit.

I can't say enough about our staff's commitment to all of their students.  Every classroom has teachers connecting with students in front of them, students Zooming from home, and some in 100% virtual settings.  It's common to see a teacher outside at a table providing a lesson to students at home while his/her class is at specials.  They are juggling a number of variables and I'm sure they're exhausted at the end of the day.

I also appreciate the parents who have communicated about keeping students home if they are showing any signs of illness.  We are able to keep learning together because we are working as a team.  Go Sailfish!
