SIGSBEE MIDDLE SCHOOL
πππBASKETBALL UPDATE πππ
Middle school boys and girls who are interested in playing on Sigsbee's basketball team this year should sign up on the clipboard in Mrs. Jannes's "pocket park" during lunch. Sign ups will close on Friday November 6th.
Signing up on the clipboard does not commit anyone to playing on the team or guarantee that we will be able to host a team. We are gauging level of interest to see if we can move forward once the Covid-19 statistics look better.
For the first couple of weeks in November, the coaches will put together workout programs and do instructional "practices" on the SCS Basketball Google Classroom. Potential players will be expected to start training on their own.
If we are able to keep our positivity rate down, we would possibly start in person practices after Thanksgiving. Practices would have limited number of players and all Covid-19 protocols will be in place.
Thank you and look forward to you joining the team!

COSTUME PARADE SUCCESS
Our costume parade was a great success with exemplary efforts from the staff and students. We all really needed something to celebrate and Friday definitely delivered. The parade was live streamed on our SigsbeeCharterPTO Facebook page and recorded so that our middle school tech students can create a slideshow/video with both the students on campus and those who were virtual. Standby for that to be published.
A special thank you to the staff in our G Wing Hallway for their miraculous Candyland transformation. It was truly an amazing passion project.
Sigsbee's tradition of assembling non-perishable foods for those in need will continue again this year. Your donations will be used to send students home with a box full of items they can use while school is closed over the holiday break. The boxes are donated to students at both Sigsbee Charter and Key West High School. Our goal is to fill 60 boxes! Below you will find the item that your child's grade level is collecting. Feel free to donate one or many of your the grade level item. We suggest checking the Publix BOGO ads for great deals.
Items are due by Monday, November 16th so that we can organize the boxes and send them home with the students. The items will be collected in your child's homeroom class starting this week. This is a great way to teach our students about the impact of helping our neighbors.
Note: *We will also gladly accept donations of medium sized, sturdy cardboard boxes with lids or top closures
