UPDATE TO MASKING POLICY
MASKS OPTIONAL
At this week's SCS Board of Directors' meeting, the members voted to follow recent updates to the masking policy made by the Monroe County School District. Effective immediately, masks are now optional for all staff, students and visitors. We recommend that persons remain masked if not vaccinated.
All other measures (i.e. 3' distancing, symptom free attendance) will continue.
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP LESSONS
During the next few weeks, the elementary students will be engaging in digital citizenship activities during library lesson time. We are discussing topics that are imperative in today’s world. The topics will include: media balance, privacy, security, and digital footprints in the virtual environment. We will also discuss relationships, cyberbullying, digital drama and hate speech. Finally, in concurrence with class research papers, the discussion will focus upon news and media literacy. Please take a moment to discuss our week’s topics with your children as we review these important concepts. Check out the weekly summary on the Sigsbee library website.
If you have questions or suggestion, please contact Elizabeth Kuhlman, the school library media specialist at elizabeth.kuhlman@sigsbee.org or call 305-294-1861 x63302
