PURPLE UP MILITARY CHILD ASSEMBLY FRIDAY!

We invite all parents/guardians of military-connected students to help us wrap up our Month of the Military Child on Friday.  Students will participate in a Purple Up Field Day during recess and military-connected students will be honored at grade level assemblies in the afternoon.  Parents/guardians are invited to come to present certificates to their children.  Please see the calendar above for assembly times.  Leave time to sign in at the main office.

LOCKDOWN UPDATES

All families should have received an email with details explaining the lockdown/hold-in-place situation from Friday.   Coincidentally, this occurred shortly after our monthly staff training and discussion with students.  Please take this opportunity to enroll in our Remind text messaging system if you did not receive Remind texts on Friday.

PTO

PENNY WARS ARE HERE!

Penny Wars are a favorite fundraiser at Sigsbee Charter School, organized by our amazing PTO.  Students are able to donate coins and bills throughout the week starting at arrival.  A friendly competition between the grade levels brings in additional funds for special activities at the school.  Penny War champions often strategize throughout the week to figure out how to end up with the most positive points.  Please check the video and chart below for information.

Penny Wars will end at noon on Friday.  The winning grade level will have bragging rights throughout the entire 2022-2023 school year.

Lunch and Recess Volunteers

This has been a tremendous help to our staff and students.  Please continue to sign up to help in our cafeteria or outside at recess.  Additional adults in these areas have allowed us to give staff a break from picking up additional duties and have helped students in the areas where they need the most help with social interactions.  There are plenty of openings this week.  Come on down!

Congratulations to the Quarter 3 Good Morning, Sigsbee! news team!  They earned a silver and two merit ratings for their broadcast entries to the Florida Student Press Association's convention contest this year.  Please congratulate Rosalind Carr, Samuel Scepka, Eva Norwood, Gabriella Lopez, Madilyn Mcinnis, Diya Alwani, Carlo Zuniga, Lili McBain. Grace Holtcamp and Maysha Mannan. 

It takes a lot of courage to be the first news team of the year, and even more to compete. Kudos!
